Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 and Microsoft (MS) Office 365 are terms often used interchangeably.  But in fact, they are different, and one is actually a subset of the other.

Microsoft 365 is an all-encompassing subscription-based business suite that includes MS Office 365, Windows 10 and Enterprise Mobility + Security. There are two different configurations available, each targeting different segments of the market.

  • Microsoft 365 Business is designed specifically for small-to-medium sized businesses with up to 300 users. This offering only includes basic security features, but still acts as a great turnkey solution for smaller businesses that want a more integrated and secure way of using Windows 10 and Office 365.
  • Microsoft 365 Enterprise is, as the title implies, more geared towards larger organizations that want a single, secure platform for data sharing and team collaboration. It includes strong data security features on top of Windows 10 Pro and Office 365.

Some organizations choose to start their journey to the cloud with MS Office 365, a cloud services platform that offers familiar Microsoft products like Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneDrive (along with other productivity services) either online or on-premises via a subscription plan.

Once the basic decision between implementing the full-bundle Microsoft 365 (Business or Enterprise) OR Microsoft Office 365, there are many more options to be considered and choices to be made.  An experienced “tour guide” like CPP Associates can help you navigate the rocky and sometimes confusing terrain, steer you clear of obstacles that can slow you down, and set you on a straight, successful journey to your ideal business technology infrastructure.

Quarterly Reviews to Review Security and Optimization

Each quarter, the CPP team will do a thorough review of your Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring that you are fully utilizing your licensing (and if not, right-sizing it to reduce cost), and to update any security and back-up features (Microsoft does not provide back-up and recovery).  In one client instance, we were able to save the organization $8,000/month (or close to $100,000 for the year) by eliminating licenses that were no longer being used.

You can count on the experts at CPP Associates to ensure you get the most value from your investment in Microsoft 365.
